Location of artisan makers: Colombia
Zuahaza is a social enterprise and artisan collective designing and weaving unique home textiles in Colombia. Dedicated to creating sustainable employment opportunities for Colombian artisan communities, they seek to revitalise traditional crafts and design unique home goods through conscious collaboration and mutual exchange of knowledge.
Following an era of intense conflict, Zuahaza strives to participate in the peacemaking efforts to reunite and heal the country, creating products that reflect their diversity, history and dreams as statements of the unity and peace to come from Colombia. Zuahaza means “my sister” in the Muisca language native to the Cundiboyacense mountain region of Colombia.
