The shades of beige, grey and brown colours in the baskets are obtained with natural dye, using soil or the bark of a tree called the Mshiga tree.

From rolling their own sisal twine to weaving every intricate detail, each basket is a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication of the artisans head and heart. 

To add a personal touch, the weaver sews a cardboard piece with her name, ensuring a connection between you and the artisan behind your basket. Additionally, the Hadithi team prints and includes a photo of the weaver, allowing you to appreciate the person behind the art.
