An earthy throw featured a playful botanical graphic design. ‘Planted’ by Meg Philip was selected by the public as one of the top three winning designs as part of Something Good Studio’s annual Young Designer Competition. Made in South Africa, the two-tonal blanket, in olive green and ecru, is made from 100% cotton sourced locally from farmers and custom dyed in the Eastern Cape. Jacquard reversible knit and complete with a ribbed trim on two sides. Use as a colourful bed throw, or keep it rolled up by your sofa for those cosy nights in.
“The name “Planted” refers literally to the leaves, however it also bares the figurative meaning of staying grounded and finding my feet during this time of uncertainty. My go-to things to draw whenever I am doodling are usually flowers or leaves. There’s something quite effortless and almost therapeutic about drawing them. This design is one of the few designs I drew with pencil and paper first before translating it digitally. This design could be interpreted as a symbol for growth and new beginnings – two very relevant themes for me this year! The colour green is also associated with life, renewal and growth.” – Meg
