The Yemoja EarringsShekudo
Yemaja (or as some say Yemoja / Yemaya) is the Yoruba Orisha or Goddess of the living ocean, considered the mother of all. She is the source of all the waters, including the rivers of western Africa, especially the River Ogun in Nigeria. Yemaja is often depicted as a mermaid, and is associated with the moon, water, and feminine mysteries. She is the protector of women. The delicate triangle and rod design is an abstract tribute to the alchemical water and air symbol combined.
