Penduka's beautiful embroidered baby playmat is based on the embroidery of three women from the Penduka Otjiwarongo group, who embroidered their village story over 3 weeks. Made from 100% cotton, the white embroidered playmat is backed with red, light turquoise or teal-grey velvet. The cotton baby playmat can also be used as a baby blanket or duvet, making it a wonderful and versatile gift now a newborn or parent-to-be.

Penduka

Penduka is a social enterprise and training centre for women Namibia. After skills training in crafts, design, hospitality, and management skills, the women become a part of the Penduka Village production team in Katutura, the former black township of Windhoek. Here women are given women the opportunity to sell their handmade creations and earn a fair income. Penduka is about respect, self-confidence and empowerment and offer support to those who wish to start up on their own.
