Khokho – the Siswati word for great-grandmother – was born out of a vision to elevate handcraft through fine craftsmanship and specialised design. Founded in 2014, the brands aims to create beautiful, modern pieces using the ancient technique of swazi weaving combined with handcrafted leather. Khokho also strives to advance the development of local artisans, while preserving the spirit of traditional, time-honoured techniques. Khokho is committed to creating income generating opportunities for artisans in Eswatini and building global awareness for luxury craft originating from Southern Africa. In addition to annual earnings, the artisans benefit from a percentage of each sale and this income helps develop their own community and business ventures.
