"every bracelet purchased donates one mosquito net in Ghana - say No 2 Malaria"
N2M stands for “No 2 Malaria” and is an initiative founded by Leeni Ojanlemi in Ghana, West Africa. For every N2M bracelet purchased a treated mosquito net will be distributed to a villager in Ghana.
N2M bracelets are made from 100% recycled glass using traditional bead making techniques, an integral part of the local culture that has been used over the centuries in various rituals including for healing and protection. The discarded raw glass is first washed and sorted according to the various hues and colours. The scraps are then broken down into smaller fragments and sieved into a clay mould, shaped by craftsmen using wooden tools. The mould once dry, is filled with the glass and fired and the newly minted bead is pierced whilst the glass is still hot. Once cooled, the beads are polished with sand and wool ready for painting and then hand strung.
Every single N2M bracelet has its own unique final shape and design and will be alike no other.
