City Shapes Cotton Blanket / Throw

City Shapes Cotton Blanket / Throw

A monochrome playful abstract design throw. This blanket was designed by Tara Deacon, a South African Illustrator and painter living and working in Berlin since 2014 made in collaboration with Something Good Studio. Made in South Africa, this weighty blanket, in black and ecru, is made from 100% cotton sourced locally from farmers and custom dyed in the Eastern Cape. Jacquard reversible knit and complete with a ribbed trim on two sides. Use as a colourful bed throw, or keep it rolled up by your sofa for those cosy nights in.

“City Shapes is inspired by the forms, lines, corners and curves found within the hustle and bustle of a city.” – Tara.

Tara’s work explores the simplicity of everyday observations, a combination of memory and place – both real and imagined. Her compositions are populated with patterns, colours and characters influenced from her travels, personal relationships, books and popular culture, bringing through a narrative storytelling quality to her work. Her curiosity to play with colours, shapes and forms and how they work with one another in a composition express a cohesive flavour of optimism and vibrance reminiscent of her homeland.
