AKOJO MARKET is a fast-growing e-commerce platform, founded in 2019, championing independent, ethical brands from across Africa. Our core mission is to empower talented, emerging designers and brands, who prioritise fair trade, local employment and skills training along with sustainable methods of manufacturing. Our 43 designers, and collectively, their thousands of artisans, handmake beautiful unique accessories, homeware, clothing and bath/body – and through AKOJO MARKET are able sell direct to international customers.
AKOJO MARKET’s founders Natasha and Annie are seeking an experienced marketeer to join as a third founder. We are looking for a self-starter, wanting to take on a strategic role within our organisation, and to support with delivering our ambitious growth plans.
The selected Marketing Expert will be responsible for:
Devising all online and offline marketing activities based on data and insights-driven decisions including PPC, SEO, PR
Assessing how to allocate budget across Google Merchant, Social Media and other channels
Managing all CRM systemS
- Recruiting / managing technical freelancers responsible for all website development and coding relating to user experience and marketing
- Monitoring and interpreting all relevant market trends
- Managing and allocating the marketing budget and reporting on ROI
- Hiring and managing the growing marketing team
We are looking for someone with:
Minimum 10 years marketing experience with experience in start-ups and e-commerce
Has a strong interest in ethical fashion and homeware
Has a close link to sub-Saharan Africa
- Is a self-starter and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
